A Century Pools network project: an Opal set into a fenced courtyard, with pale paving running to the coping and planting along the boundary. At 3.3 m wide, the Opal suits a yard where the pool is the centrepiece of the outdoor space.
The Challenge
In a courtyard, the pool has to work as part of the entertaining space rather than sit apart from it. That means somewhere to sit in the water as well as somewhere to swim.
The Solution
The Opal's angled step-seats are moulded into the one-piece Century shell, so there is a place to sit in the water without adding built-in furniture. Pale paving runs right to the coping, keeping the courtyard simple and open.
