How is a fibreglass pool made?

Our fibreglass pools are made in Australia using a multi-layer process. A UV-resistant gelcoat creates the smooth, coloured finish, while a vinyl ester barrier helps protect against osmosis. Layers of fibreglass and resin provide strength and flexibility, with structural ribbing adding reinforcement. Each shell is carefully cured and inspected before delivery.

How is a fibreglass pool installed?

A fibreglass pool is installed by excavating the area and preparing a level base before craning the shell into position. Plumbing is connected, then the pool is filled with water as the surrounding space is backfilled for support. Coping, paving and fencing complete the area, ready for you to enjoy.

Do fibreglass pools work in cold climates?

Fibreglass pools are made from precast moulds, so while you cannot customise the shape, you are able to customise other elements such as your pool’s colour.

How long do fibreglass pools last?

Do fibreglass pools fade?

While all pools fade over time, the colour fade you can expect from a fibreglass pool’s gelcoat surface is gradual and even. Regardless, a fibreglass gelcoat surface is the most durable pool coating available.

Are fibreglass pools easier to maintain than vinyl liner or concrete pools?

Of all pool types, fibreglass pools require the least maintenance. You only need to maintain the water chemistry once a week and don’t need to worry about algae growth like you would with a concrete pool.

What pool care maintenance is required during Summer?

How much site access do you need to install a pool?

Liberal site access is preferred to excavate soil for installing a fibreglass pool. However, even with just 2m wide site access, it is possible – it will just mean a lengthier process.
